Melbourne Part 2: The National Gallery of Victoria

In addition to tennis, Melbourne is known for its art and fashion. We spent a fun afternoon wandering through the National Gallery of Victoria.

This wall of modernist animals is so fun!

'All Must Dance' from Glasgow-based artist David Shirgley, very inspiring!

'Walking in the Rain' series by Julian Opie, juxtaposing London and Seoul streets.

We loved the intricate warped reality of New Zealand-born artist Jess Johnson's 'Wurm Haus' series.

Vintage Moschino bags, representative of household items and tasks.

Avant garde hats by Philip Treacy, made me think of the fascinators at the Royal Randwick racecourse.

Channeling the 1960's, the Andre Courreges' iconic mini dress caught our eye.

I love the modernist pop color on display from Indian designer Manish Arora.

This pool installation by French artist Celeste Boursier-Mougenot brings together color, sound and space.

Melbourne Part 1: The Australian Open

Ever since coming to Australia, I've heard nothing but good things about Melbourne and I went this weekend to check it out! Timing was especially perfect as the Australian Open was taking place and the city was pulsing with energy. I love tennis and got to catch a few matches!

Here I am wearing a dress from Brazilian designer Osklen - my tennis whites! My hat is from the fab Ace of Something - an Australian hat maker.

I had great seats to a mixed doubles match with Bob Bryan and Bethanie Mattek-Sands.

I did get one souvenir, this cool Australian Open hat.

My new hat paired nicely with my outfit for checking out the town. I'm wearing my trustworthy Belle & Sky moto jacket, Rag & Bone jeans, and white Converses, which were very popular at the Open.

A Day at the Races

I headed to the Royal Randwick Racecourse on a perfect Summer Saturday in Sydney. I love horses and the elegance of the races.

For the event, I wore a white dress from BCBG, Claudia Mourao silver heels, a Koku pineapple clutch, vintage sunglasses and a white hat from Forever New.

The Royal Randwick is a beautiful track and the grounds are impeccably maintained.

We got a perfect viewpoint, right by the track, and promptly ordered a bottle of Brut Rose.

The horses are magnificent and I love the colorful jerseys the jockeys wear.

We watched some of the races from the upper balcony, which also has an expansive view of the city of Sydney.

The races are a great place for fashion-spotting. I particularly loved this lady in blue, her YSL bag is fabulous as well.

Hats, or fascinators, are a key part of any race day outfit. Seeing all the great headpieces made me think of these fantastically fun fascinators I saw at Marie Mercie in Paris over the Christmas holiday. You can bet I will have one at the championship races in April!

Stepping Out in Surry Hills

I love the chic boutiques, upscale cafes, and charming architecture of the Surry Hills neighborhood in Sydney. Here I am on Crown Street wearing a few of my favorite pieces - my new United Nude geometric Chelsea boots, Rag & Bone black jeans, Lancaster Paris red envelope clutch, and an Eleven Paris metallic tank top.

Here, I added the Belle & Sky cropped moto jacket that I love!
