MFW: Everything You Need to Know

Design maven & Melange Mode special guest Sarah Holland shares her experience at Milan Fashion Week, while rocking the Reverie New York Fall Collection:

Dress by Reverie, the perfect storm

After leaving the furniture fair Salone de Mobile in Milan this year with my dearest friend Deanna Chandonnet, Director of Contract Sales for Montage Boston, I knew we had to make it back to Milan for Fashion Week.

Deanna and Sarah

Milan is the most gorgeous, unique city where you are surrounded by design everywhere. It is so amazing to be in the center of everything during Salone and MFW - the energy is incredible.

There's no time to be jet lagged, so be sure to go to the Bvlgari Spa right when you get in.

The best place to lose track of time on a Saturday is at Il Salumaio, one of my favorite restaurants in Milan. After lunch, I stopped by the Maria Grazia Severi Presentation - the collection was on display at their gorgeous store and it was just like out of a fashion week fairy tale. I love that this collection is all about color and detailed textured accents. Images below from the collection, including my favorite pieces the black mesh pieces with the crystals and the long black printed maxi dress, which is perfect for Summer!

The Heohwan Simulation Show was incredible to see. The show took place at the Clerci Palace, in a beautiful dimly lit room filled with paintings and chandeliers. The talented Korean-born designer Hwan Heo's collection was inspired by the late 60's and echos a bright futuristic mood. I loved the fringed textured pieces and the detailed oversized coats!

The Alberto Zambelli Show, at the Piazza Duomo Scalone Arrengario, took place in another iconic space. This award winning designers collection is inspired by pop art spanning through the late sixties into the seventies. The brand identity of this designer is apparent through elegance and refinement. Clean lines and dynamic geometries define this collection - it was unforgettable!

While in Milano, I had to stop by one of my favorite spots in the vibrant Brera neighborhood -  the Marc Jacobs Cafe.

I ended a fantastic week at 10 Corso Como Cafe. Be seen at the cafe and check out their gorgeous store after!

A very special Thank You to Reverie, and to Maria Grazia Severi, Heohwan Simulation, Alberto Zambellican't wait to see more from you in the future.

Be sure to check out these amazing collections!
