At the opening reception Duro Olowu: More Material at Salon 94 gallery, we found great inspiration in this curated show as well as the fashion crowd that attended.
Inspired by his Nigerian-Jamaican heritage and London upbringing, fashion designer Duro Olowu brings together both contemporary and vintage pieces. Art, ceramics, furniture, jewelry and clothing made for a fantastic show and the reception brought together a great fashion crowd as well. Many at the opening wore bold and colorful clothing, African inspired jewelry and patterns.
Works include photography by Cindy Sherman, Laurie Simmons, Juergen Teller, art by Rachel Feinstein and Stanley Whitney and some of my favorites were illustrations by Antonio Lopez and Antonio Pippolini.
Alongside the show is a great pop-up shop, where you can buy accessories and specially made clothing for the show by the designer.
