Several weeks ago we wrote about Concept and Lifestyle boutiques on the West Coast, which have become a big trend across the country. Following up on that story we decided to write about some of our favorite East Coast stores, in the downtown Manhattan areas of Soho and Nolita. Each one of these shops creates a wonderfully unique atmosphere that is inviting and reflects a distinctive point of view. We invite you to check them out for a day of shopping adventure!
American Two Shot, an eclectic shop on the border of Soho/Nolita is part coffee bar, gallery and shopping destination for all things cool. They have a great selection of up and coming designers that we haven't seen sold anywhere else, curated vintage, quirky things like Coco Chanel and Notorious B.I.G. stuffed pillows and leather cat ear headbands. After you sift through the racks, sip some coffee from Nicaragua while checking out their cool assortment of books and magazines. Every time we go into this shop, we are delighted by their fun and thoughtful selection. Check out this community haven that will surprise you time after time.

Warm, a specialty shop on a small quiet street in Nolita is
the place to go for the urban hippie. You can feel the love and warmth in every corner of this wonderfully curated refuge from the city streets. They focus on craftsmanship and handmade details so each object feels special and unique. We love how they create a little world for each assortment like a teepee under hand carved wooden stars. Their Warm Home section invites you to sit on colorful hand woven cushions and look through their selection of art and photography books. They also have a great assortment of tunics, bathing suits, and accessories for your next beach getaway. With small batch runs of each item in this store, you know your walking away with a unique piece every time.

Loopy Mango, a yarn and curiosities shop named after the owner's German Shepherd, Loopy, and orange cat, Mango, is definitely worth the trip just to check out their insanely large yarns, which they make at their own mills in Massachusetts. You can learn to knit and crochet their colorful and feather weaved yarns in a group or private class or buy ready made scarves and hats.
Each corner has unique objects like paper mache animal head wall mounts, quirky ornaments, glass terrariums, vintage hand woven rugs and one of a kind clothing. They also carry great gift ideas like hand made candles and objects, specialty table linens and napkins, and small plants nestled in hand blown glass. Visit this enchanting store for the unique crafts and colors and be transported to a magical place.
